Longview

We moved to Longview TX at the end of July. Greg had an interview with Baker Hughes one weekend. We all drove down to Austin for the interview. The morning of the interview we were in the lobby of the hotel eating our continental breakfast when two cops with shields and assault rifles came sneaking up alongside the building. They were in the ready position and everything. Apparently someone at the desk had accidentlly pressed the panic button. It was quite a sight to see. Anyway, we went to the interview and then that week Greg got a call back saying that he had the job if we could make the move in less than 3 weeks. So, 2 1/2 weeks later we were headed to Longview.

Eleanor was happy with the new appartment. Although it was really messy and everything was piled into the Livingroom. I don't know if it would have ever been organized if my mom hadn't been there to help me.

Eleanor was also happy to have a pool to swim in...finally a reason to put her swimsuit and sun hat on!

On Eleanor's 3 month Birthday we went to Baskin Robbins to celebrate. Greg said that it wasn't very nice that we got to eat ice cream to celebrate her Birthday when Mommy isn't allowing her to have any yet.

Great Grandma Eleanor sent this jumpy seat for Baby Eleanor to play in. It was originally Josiah's toy but he started walking and didn't like to be in it anymore. Eleanor loves it more and more each day!

I absolutely love Eleanor's robe. It has little horns and ears on the hood to look like a giraffe. She is just so cute lounging around in it. I bet that she will like it even more come winter.

Eleanor has really begun to focus on things and concentrates so that she can grab them. Anytime she pulls her shirt or dress up and uncovers her belly I can't help but get down on the floor to give her kisses or blow on her belly.

Eleanor LOVES to go swimming! She especially likes to stand on the step where the water comes up to her chest.

We went to the zoo! Eleanor couldn't see very well from her stroller so she didn't stay there for long.

Eleanor's favorite part of the zoo was petting the goats. They were all pregnant goats so we will have to go back to see the babies.

Eleanor fell asleep before we made it to the African animals but we still went to to see them because Greg's favorite animal is the giraffe. They were probably one of the best exhibits because we could view them up close.

This is just overlooking the "plains" animal exhibit. There are mostly buffalo and antalope type animals behind us.

There wasn't much time left in the summer but I had to buy this float when I saw it. I was so glad I did when I put Eleanor in it and she started having a blast in the water without me having to hold her the whole time.

We have a really great time at the pool and spend a great deal of our time there.

Eleanor typically fusses when she is put in our car because she can't see us from the back seat, but the pickup does not have a back seat so she gets buckled in the front where she laughs and talkes to Mommy almost everytime we go anywhere.

In September Eleanor and I flew to Lubbock to visit my parents in Lovington and the Gregs family in Amarillo. It was Eleanors first time on an airplane,at 4 months old, and I was really impressed with how well she did. I sat next to some great people who were more than willing to help me with my luggage so that I could take care of the baby. It is really nice to know that there are people out there who look out for others.

When we got back to Longview Great Grandma Eleanor sent baby some money so that she could get this nifty high chair. It has been great! Eleanor loves to play with the toys while I fix her food and then they pop right out so that I can feed her without getting them all messy. It is also great when Greg and I want to eat because she can sit at the table or at least at the same level as us and play with her toys while we eat.

I just like this picture! She never stays on her back anymore.

She loves her water! I was so excited to see her hold her own bottle and then Greg and i were amazed when she let go with one hand and still held it fine with just one hand. I guess that proves that there are benefits to having large hands. She can even pick up the bottle on her own.

Grandma Morris bought this outfit and demanded that I take a picture of her wearing it to prove that I actually put her in it. Monkeys are great for Eleanor because she likes to hang upside down.

It actually got rainy and cold here so I was able to put this cute little jacket on my pretty baby.

Eleanor has been trying different foods. Right now her favorite is sweet potatoes. She had a bit of a hard time with peaches but they may have been a bit more sour that anything else she has had.

Jumping and squealing in her jumpy seat.

Texas Tech always wins when Eleanor wears her outfit and so far they have lost everytime I dont put her in it on gameday. She must be a little good luck charm!

This outfit has a really cute floppy sun hat that goes with it but it was cloudy and cold this Sunday so the hat didn't seem to quite fit the day.

One of Eleanor's favorite games is peek a boo. She plays this by pulling a blanket over her face then pulling it off and smiling really big at you. Most of the time we cover her face with the blanket but she almost always pulls it off of herself with a big smile or laugh.

Bathtime used to be a pain. I had to take a shower with her to keep her happy because she really didn't like the bath but ever since she started sitting up without support she has changed her mind. Now bathtime is one of her favorite times of the day. She is just so cute playing and splashing in the water.

Grandma Jarnagin sent this way pretty dress to Eleanor and I absolutly had to take a picture of how pretty she is! At this picture she is 5 months old.

May- July 2009

Ok, so since I just started this blog I have a lot that I need to catch up on. First things first Eleanor Marie Morris was born on May 8, 2009 at 10:04 am.

This is Greg telling me how long the needle was for the epidural.

She was 8 lbs 11 oz. and 21 in. long. Nice and healthy, she looked absolutly perfect from the very beginning! Greg, my mom, and Sarah were all in the room when she was born so they can all vouch for how beautiful Eleanor was even at the beginning. The very next day Greg and I graduated from Texas Tech University. I was still in the hospital so I didn't go to graduation (I didn't want to anyway) but Greg went and he had a great time and said that the speakers were really great. Lots of family came to see me and the new baby in the hospital.
Great Grandma Eleanor and Baby Eleanor. Eleanor was named after my Grandma.

Gregs' brothers and sister and parents. Carter is on his mission so he was not here and Richard had to work so he didn't get to come either.

We had a party to celebrate Graduation that evening after Eleanor and I were released from the hospital. It felt really good to be able to take her home with us.

This is Eleanor in her going home dress right before we left the hospital.

The first time for Eleanor to sleep in he bassinet at home.

Amber and Zoey and Piper came to see us a few days after Eleanor was born. Piper was excited to hold the new baby with my help. Zoey held her too while Greg helped but she wasn't quite as excited as Piper.

Just two weeks after my baby was born we had to pack up and move out of the house that Greg and I had been living in for the last two years. We moved into a little efficiancy behind the Glovers home. Eleanor had two more months of Lubbock life before her daddy got a job and we moved to Longview, but thats for another blog. Here are some more pictures documenting the rest of our time in Lubbock.

One of the first nights spent in the efficiancy. Eleanor is sleepy...and soooo cute!
Sleeping soundly in her carseat. We are visiting Sandy and probably doing laundry at her place.
Eleanors' baby blessing day. I was sad because the microphone was not working and I couldn't hear but Greg wrote down the things he remembered saying.

Grandma loves her little Grand-daughter!

This was the day Angie and Will finished loading their moving van and we all took pictures of the family outside.
Sleepy girl!

My little girl is getting big and has started smiling a whole lot more!

Yay for the fourth of July! We went and saw fireworks in Amarillo...Eleanor slept through them.

Talking to Mommy while gettting straped into her carseat...lets go shopping!!!

Happily playing with Aunt Sandy!

Eleanors Great Grandpa loves her and made a trip from Carlsbad to Lubbock just to see her before we moved away.

Great Grandma Eleanor loving on Baby Eleanor!

Maggie and Eleanor wearing matching dresses. This was our last Sunday in Lubbock.
Daddy loves his little girl and just like her shirt says she loves her daddy!
Well that will do for now but I will catch everyone up on all that has happened since we moved to Longview in another post soon!
